Silicon Valley to Law Firm Operations

Jayson Elliott's career spans three domains that rarely intersect in a single person: Silicon Valley technology operations, international business, and legal practice. That combination is the foundation of XPRTS — and the reason the approach works where typical consulting firms don't.

Silicon Valley & Technology Background

Before law school, Jayson worked with companies including eBay, Hewlett-Packard, and Lockheed Martin in Silicon Valley, developing expertise in enterprise systems, operational infrastructure, and technology-enabled business processes at companies operating at global scale. He later served as CTO for multiple startups, where his focus shifted from understanding technology to using it as a primary lever for business growth and operational efficiency.

His technology background includes early expertise in blockchain and cryptocurrency — including operating Bitcoin mining infrastructure (Kryptk.com since 2016) and advising on crypto legal and compliance frameworks when the industry was nascent. This early adoption mindset carries directly into how XPRTS approaches AI integration today.

International Operations

Since 2018, Jayson has operated teams in the Philippines — building structured, technology-enabled remote workforce models that prioritize quality over cost arbitrage. His international operations span North America, South America, and Asia. This experience is the direct origin of XPRTS's staffing model.

The key insight from years of international operations: the constraint on talent quality is rarely the talent itself. It's the absence of training, systems, and integration into professional workflows. The same insight drives how XPRTS trains and deploys remote legal staff today.

Bay Legal, PC

As Managing Attorney of Bay Legal, PC — a California law firm focused on estate planning, probate, and real estate/construction disputes — Jayson built a technology-driven legal operation that served as the laboratory for every system XPRTS now deploys for clients.

The firm achieved 400% revenue growth in 2025 through the exact combination of Clio configuration, Lawmatics intake automation, remote staff deployment, and AI-assisted workflows that XPRTS offers to law firm clients. Bay Legal is not a past reference. It is a live, operating firm running XPRTS systems every day.

Technology Philosophy

Jayson's approach to technology in law firm operations can be reduced to three principles that shape everything XPRTS builds:

  • Systems beat tools. Individual tools create capability. Integrated systems create leverage. The difference between a firm with Clio and a firm with a working operating system is configuration and integration.
  • AI and humans together outperform either alone. AI increases speed and consistency. Humans provide judgment and strategy. XPRTS builds the workflows that combine both — AI handling first-pass intake and drafting, humans handling strategy and relationships.
  • Global talent plus technology creates sustainable competitive advantage. The constraint on growth is not the availability of capable people. It's the availability of properly trained, properly integrated capable people. Technology solves the integration problem. XPRTS solves the training problem.

"A law firm is not a collection of lawyers. It is an operating system. Our job is to build that operating system — and then make it run without the founder in the middle of everything."
